Like Father, Like Son

The oldest winner of the The Open Championship or British Open was Tom Morris Sr., who was 46 years, 102 days old when he won in 1867. The youngest winner was his son, Tom Morris Jr., who was 17 years, 156 days old when he won in 1868. The elder Mr. Morris also holds the record for the widest margin of victory at the British Open – a whopping 13 strokes – a record he set in 1862 and which stands to this day.
